About Us
Nichol Stainless Tanks was created by Brian and Glenda Nichol (pictured right with sons Kyle & Brook) early 2007 after looking for another business to run alongside their existing fertiliser business which has been in operation for almost 50 years. This has come about due to the continued drought affecting the agricultural industry and the fact that they wanted to utilise our existing premises and staff.
After consultation with our Marketing Team a decision was made to create a brand for our product. After much thought and deliberation we have settled on Designer Tanks.
We wanted something we could do in our existing shed with our staff and something we could do regardless of the weather. Having a large premises, great staff and utilising existing transport used in the fertiliser business, we decided to plunge into stainless steel tank making. We chose stainless steel over plastic and galvanised tanks for a number of reasons. The quality of the product mainly. We dont believe plastic tanks are ideal for a number of reasons, taste, fire and contaminants. They are also restricitive size wise as they are made using moulds. Galvanised tanks don't appear to have the life expectancy required. We have replaced many leaking galvanised and concrete tanks with our stainless steel tanks.
Our team led by Brian Nichol includes Helen Hartley and Geoff Dobson, pictured above, who spend their days manufacturing high quality tanks to meet our customers requirements.
